Description:

Indications
The primary indication for sevelamer carbonate is the control of serum phosphorus levels in patients with CKD who are on hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis.
Dosage:

Treatment of hyperphosphatemia includes reduction in dietary intake of phosphate, inhibition of intestinal phosphate absorption with phosphate binders, and removal of phosphate with dialysis. General Dosage
Sevelamer Carbonate tablet should be given three times a day with meals.
Patients Not Taking a Phosphate Binder: The recommended starting dose of Sevelamer Carbonate is 0.8 to 1.6 g with meals based on serum phosphorus level.
